in food material further prevents quick absorption into
the blood. The rise of blood sugar is, therefore, not
abrupt but smooth and sustained and slow to appear.
Such a rise of blood sugar can be handled better and
more easily by the pancreas of the diabetic than the
sudden and abrupt rise, which occur after eating simple
carbohydrates such as cane sugar and glucose.
- Fruit Juices , sweet dishes and beverages
containing sugar will all raise the blood sugar abruptly
and may later cause reactive hypoglycaemia due to over
stimulation of insulin production. The first and foremost
casualty in the treatment of diabetes is sugar and glucose
in any form.
- The control of diabetes of diabetes
is life long. Half-hearted measures do not prevent long-term
complication
